FAQ
How can my facility afford staffing services?
When you consider the alternatives, not hiring a staffing service can cost you more. For example, if your MRI machine is not operating optimally, more than $2,000/hour in revenues can be lost.
Furthermore, outside services should be assessed not only on the basis of cost, but also on the return value to the facility. Delays affect patient satisfaction with your hospital, and one unhappy patient will tell many others.
We were unhappy with the quality of the personnel our previous staffing company provided. Why should I believe your travelers will be any better?
Because Resources On Call guarantees it. We invest in the thorough screening and qualifying of our staffers. We screen for top-notch healthcare professionals with the latest in accreditations, as well as, strong interpersonal skills and positive attitudes. With our 5-day money-back guarantee, you really can't go wrong.
How soon can you get a traveler here?
It depends a great deal on the flexibility of our contract employees and the supply and demand of the modality or specialty in question. Realistically, you can expect a one to two-week wait for diagnostic x-ray and up to six weeks for certain ultrasound specialties. With nearly zero unemployment in the medical field and baby boomers starting to retire, it is an employee-driven market and will continue to be for some time. On the other hand, Resources On Call has a tremendous pool of employees from which to choose.
JCAHO requires the same paperwork for contract personnel as for regular employees. This is time-consuming and the documentation has been a problem for us in the past. How can you help?
Resources On Call takes care not just of JCAHO, but all the time-consuming professional paperwork: Credentialing, letters of reference, listings of exam and equipment proficiencies, and copies of the most recent MMR, PPD, Tetanus booster and Hepatitis B waiver or consent. We do an initial drug screening upon hiring, periodic rechecks, and a check with the Department of Motor Vehicles. We also do a background check of our candidates. If your state requires licensure in addition to a national registry, we will make application for that also. For employees exposed to radiation, we provide badges and dosimetry reports. We also cover our employees by professional liability insurance and workers' compensation insurance at no additional cost to you.
I'm not sure how long we will need a traveler, and I don't want to get locked into an unforgiving contract.
Our open-ended contracts allow you to lock in our professional for as long as you want; you don't even have to predict an end date. Just give us four-weeks' notice with the end date falling on a Friday to terminate the agreement. This gives us time to find a new position for our employee.
What are the advantages of hiring permanent placement employees through Resources On Call?
We eliminate advertising costs as well as valuable time wading through marginal applicants - time you can't afford to waste. We recruit the most qualified candidates and conduct in-depth technical and behavioral interviews. Additionally, we can utilize the services of National Computer Services (NCS) to measure job-related attitudes, aptitudes, abilities, and skills of each healthcare professional.
Do you guarantee your permanent placement employees?
Yes. Resources On Call offers a 90-day guarantee during the interim period. If you find the candidate unacceptable, we will re-recruit at no additional cost.
How does Resources On Call's recruiting process work?
Resources On Call screens and interviews experienced radiology, ultrasound, and laboratory professionals for contract and permanent employment. Once we have checked references and agree to represent a technologist, a telephone interview is arranged to introduce the prospective employer and the technologist to give both parties the opportunity to ask questions of one another. In situations in which permanent employment is being considered, the prospective employer generally requests an on-site interview before extending an offer which Resources On Call arranges at the employer's expense. Whether for contract or permanent employment, Resources On Call takes pride in its comprehensive screening process that insures one of the highest success rates in the medical staffing industry.
When do you begin recruitment efforts for permanent placement employees?
Resources On Call will begin recruitment for your facility after we have received a signed copy of the staffing agreement. The contract is an annual agreement, so you can call in as many openings as you have within that year.
What is the process after we receive the permanent placement candidate's credentials?
Resources On Call will coordinate a telephone interview to get you both acquainted. If you feel that the candidate is a good fit for your facility, the next step is an onsite interview.
Does Resources On Call offer Temp-to-Perm?
Yes. Our temp-to-perm program ensures that the candidate is a good fit for your facility. If you find the candidate to be unacceptable, you have no obligation to hire the candidate full-time.
